The Warrior – IV

But the battle grew intense
And now the shadows clouded the princess’ mind dense.
Many a sun passed
Not long did the princess’ trust last.

The warrior was her pride…
She had dreamt to be his bride…
But clouded by the shadows she thought
The warrior had her forgot

Many a letters she wrote to him
Expecting hope’s slightest glim.
But the warrior could give none
Unless with the war he was done.

Heartbroken she wept and wailed in distress
Craving for the warrior’s congress
Wrote letter she one more
Before she would sail off the shore.

On the battle field his body bled
Off it his heart…
Of the princess’ distress when he read
He wished to tear the shadows apart…
