The Warrior – III
One night seeing terrible pain in the princess’ shiny big eyes
From within the warrior came intense guilt cries.
His eyes finally open and his conscience shaken
The warrior’s decision was taken.
“I am a warrior”, he thought
And looked at his armour and sword long forgot!
Another war need to be fought
For to his princess he had to prove his worth.
“You must let me go”, he said
Avoiding her eyes which for his stay begged
Those eyes could sway him, he knew
And he must go before his love’s resistance grew.
He wore his armour, sharpened his sword
Reined his horses and towards the darkness rode.
This war was not meant for him to die
No matter how hard the shadows would try.
The princess’ love was his armour
And loyalty was his sword.
With determination in heart, towards his enemy he did run
And made a quiet promise to return before the morning sun.
